Michigan Supreme Court Allows Use of Credit Scores to Determine Auto Insurance Prices

Drivers and insurance-holders in Michigan have some new financial worry to handle as the county’s Supreme Court approved the use of credit scores to determine the price of car insurance in the said state. At the same time, insurance institutions and companies in the county such as the Insurance Institute of Michigan consider this turn of events as a major success for them.

Cheap Car Insurance +£50

Does the title of this blog post sound appealing to you? It would do if it meant that you were to get £50 from your cheap car insurance company but unfortunately that is not what it is referring to. Instead, that is exactly how much you are going to be expected to pay extra as a result of the dishonest drivers out there. We all knew that the increasing number of fraudulent claims would eventually put premiums up but when you realise just how much the increase will be it suddenly makes it real.

Van Insurance & General Tax

You may have missed this van insurance hike, or at least one that is to come in the near future, and I recently discovered that I had yet to write about it so I thought that now was as good a time as any to inform you about it just in case. Now, it is one of the very few elements of tax that has not been as bad as it was first presumed but it is still a rise nevertheless so read on to find out about it.

This concerns the 1% tax rise that applies to general tax. This includes that tax that is applied to car insurance, home insurance and van insurance. As such, it will rise in January 2011 to 6% overall.
