I have often written about various surveys and studies that have been completed by various companies but I have to say that I have found a recent one that blows all the others relating to cheap car insurance out of the water. There has actually be a survey completed to determine the groups of people that is more likely to have an accident on the road… by surname!

Yes, you read that correctly. The latest study examines the surnames that are the most likely to have an accident with the following results:

Most Accident Prone Surnames:

1. Clark
2. Allen
3. Lewis
4. Green
5. Watson
6. Stewart
7. Jackson
8. Baker
9. Cooper
10. Mitchell

Least Accident Prone Surnames: 

1. Roberts
2. Hall
3. Davies
4. Hill
5. Wood
6. Hughes
7. Bell
8. Jones
9. Young
10. Turner

If you are on the bottom list then you are more likely to be able to access cheap car insurance. I wonder how that works if you change your name by deed poll…
