Cheap Car Insurance & Policy Administration
Filed under: Car Insurance News
Cheap car insurance – three words that bring joy to so many people these days… but also three words that cause problems in certain other areas. Much like airlines, car insurers are looking to make up costs elsewhere and one particular area that has been identified is policy administration. Consumer group Which? has found that around 70% of insurers have actually levied charges on individuals that want to change any details of their policy prior to renewal. It may mean that changing a policy to cover another car, changing an address or removing a driving conviction actually costs you an addition fee on top of your regular premiums.
So can those companies offering cheap car insurance deals do this and levy charges for policy administration? Yes they can. If it is spelled out in your policy documents then they can levy charges and make you pay for using their services. As such, you should read all of the small print before taking out a policy to ensure that you know how much it could cost you.
