When will you get a criminal record for drunk driving?

Question:

Please could you confirm if in South Africa, you are given a criminal record after a third drunk driving offence?

Answer:

Diving under the influence of alcohol is a criminal offence from offence one and anyone convicted of it will get a permanent criminal record on the firs conviction.
