Last week, the Insurance Institute of Michigan has succeeded in using customer credit scores as basis for auto insurance pricing. The Supreme Court of Michigan has ruled in favor of the insurance institute with a vote of 4-3.
The Office of Financial and Insurance Regulations has attempted to ban the use of the credit scores to determine auto insurance prices since the consequences may be too harsh for the Detroit residents. OLDWICK, N.J. –Since the passage of U.S. health care reform, battles have erupted in some states between insurance commissioners and health insurers over double-digit premium rate increases sought by insurers on members in their individual and small group health plans.
Some fights are being waged in the battleground states of California, Massachusetts and New Mexico. The issue, in large part, has become a political hot potato, some say.
With more talk at the federal level about the need for oversight of excessive rates, insurance commissioners are interested in showing that they are acting to protect consumers, said Carmen Balber, director of the Washington, D.C.

One of the most popular online insurers has recently announced that, as part of a birthday giveaway, some of its customers will receive their car insurance free for a year. This sounds like an absolutely fantastic offer and one that is undoubtedly worth being a loyal customer for. The problem lies in how the cheap car insurance is doled out. All you have to do is take out a policy and then wait to see if you will get it for free! Yes, you have to take out a policy (not already have one) and then see if you get it for free. If not you could end up with a policy that you do not want and costs you more than you would otherwise have to pay.

Auto insurance is a necessity. But if a person doesn’t have it, it doesn’t mean he or she can lose his or her house when the person gets into a crash because of being uninsured.
This was based on a commercial aired by Travelers Insurance. Its mother company, The Travel Companies Inc. was demanded by the Texas Attorney General to remove the said commercial as it is misleading.

Womens car insurance is well known for its low premiums and ability to save households a whole lot of cash but those days may be over.
